The goal of this project was to re-design the Red Barn Bakery’s logo from the elementary-like design they had to something more clean and symmetrical. From the previous logo that the bakery had, there were components requested to keep such as the layers of the cake and the gambrel roof. By keeping these elements, and incorporating them into a cleaned up design, the logo would achieve the goal of being eye-catching and identifiable. The company sent their branding and who they are as a company highlighting what they specialize in (cakes and cupcakes) as well as the colors and styles that represent them. From there the brainstorming process took place. Originally the designs that were made in the brainstorming process separated from the original logo design, but after clarification in the feedback process, the team was able to give the company a finished logo and a brand sheet that they could use to give identity to their company.

Graphic design is about more than making things look good; it’s about using visual language to communicate ideas, solve problems, and connect with audiences. As the field has evolved, so has its scope. What was once defined primarily by print now includes branding systems, packaging, advertising, motion, digital media, and user experience.
We are proud students of Alexandria Technical & Community College. The college is located in Alexandria, Minnesota. We thrive in the Communication Design program, pushing our creativity to new heights every day. Collaborating with clients is an invaluable experience, and we are truly honored for the opportunity to bring ideas to life.
